Evan Ortlieb

Dr. Evan Ortlieb is an internationally recognized academic leader and educator, currently serving as the Dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences at SDSU.1 He previously held the deanship of the Zucker Family School of Education at The Citadel in Charleston, SC.2 His expertise centers on literacy and language development, teacher preparation, and educational leadership, with prior work experience in Singapore, Australia, and New York.3 Dr. Ortlieb has published over 150 manuscripts, including the book series, Literacy, Research, Practice and Evaluation, contributing instruments and refined instructional practices used in teacher education programs globally.4 He also founded the Ortlieb Foundation, a non-profit organization providing college scholarships for cancer survivors.5
